High voltage electrical june14

STE Solutions has been selected as the preferred contractor to supply the Balance of Plant Maintenance services and breakdown response to the Boco Rocks Wind Farm in rural NSW. This 10 year contract will strengthen our reputation as the provider of high voltage electrical services to the renewable energy sector within Australia—currently we provide maintenance services to clients in WA, SA and Vic at a number of sites.

BOCO ROCK WIND FARM
Stage one of the Boco Rock Wind Farm will see fifty eight GE 1.7-100 and nine GE 1.6-100 Brilliant wind turbines come into service with a total generating capacity of 113MW, enough to supply at least 40,000 homes and result in the avoidance of some 300,00 tonnes of CO2 emissions as compared to coal-fired power generation. Approved future expansion of this wind farm will see an additional 55 wind generators installed at this site.

CLEMENTS GAP WIND FARM
STE Solutions has been awarded a two year contract by Pacific Hydro, the owners and operators of the Clements Gap Wind Farm, to provide maintenance and breakdown services at the Clements Gap site. Located 50km South of Port Pirie, this wind farm is capable of generating 56.7MW from 27 wind generators.

VACUUM TAP DIVERTER PROJECT
Stage one of the vacuum tap diverter switch changeover project has been successfully completed. A new Reinhausen Vacutap diverter switch has been installed in a power transformer at the Morphett Vale East substation. Stage two of this project, the replacement of the existing Oiltap diverter switch at the Parafield Gardens substation, will commence on Monday 2 June and is due for completion on Friday 6 June. STE, as the primary contractor for this project, would like to thank all of the contractors who assisted during this project: Reinhausen, AGL & Sons crane hire and Grovescaff—without whom this project would have not been possible.

SAFETY ACCREDITATIONS
Workplace Safety is paramount at STE and we have recently gained accreditation in relation to our safety policies and procedures with both CM3 and ISNetworld, a task that was undertaken by our WHS advisor Mr Peter Crease. Peter is currently working hard to ensure that we are closer to gaining ISO accreditation, a goal we hope to achieve by the end of this year.
