Case Study: Mumbida Wind Farm
Western Australia
Scope: Annual testing of 22kV protection system and 132kV main transformer differential protection
WORKS
The testing of the protection relays installed in the relevant 22kV circuit breakers associated with the collector group feeders and the incomers from the two power transformers is performed on an annual basis, these relays are function tested and secondary injected.
The “Bus-riser” and “Bus-tie” protection, SEL 587Z relays as well as the transformer differential protection relays, the SEL351 and SEL387A models are also tested and proved functional.
During the process of secondary system testing “As Built” drawings are referenced to ensure they are correct and all connections on the equipment is compliant.
Comprehensive reports are provided to the client along with notification of any defects identified and any recommendations which may have arisen from the testing.
